What a great way to spend an evening after dinner in Carlsbad Village. Over the recent Holidays we stumbled on the New Village Arts Theater presentation of "THE 1940s RADIO HOUR". The local group puts on several shows in their newly remodeled theater which seats about 100, so ever seat is up close and personal. It's really neat to see... More

You don't want to miss any of the performances by talented actors at this local theater venue. Every seat is good because it's small and intimate. The last performance I saw was Oklahoma which was probably one of the best renditions I've ever seen. I have the pleasure of ushering at this theater, so I might just see you sometime.... More

This was my very first time in this small and intimate theatre. I really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. A very nice lady greeted us as we rushed through the door thinking we were late. There is a small wine bar in their colorful lobby which is filled with natural light. Very charming! We saw the play, Oklahoma, and it was... More

We really like this place. Usually better than average performances. We saw "Sylvia" last week. Hard to stop laughing. Near the coaster. Easy parking. Restaurants nearby. Some performances are suitable for familiies.

The golden age of radio was really quiet apparent in the NVA's current production "The 1940's Radio Hour". My husband and I were impressed by the talent of the company and the wonderful entertaining production . It is so close to home and it was the first time we attended. We will definitely plan on attending the three remaining productions.... More

we have attended 3 plays at this theater, the last one this month. The acting is outstanding, however this theater company has been in business for 15 years and the sets, direction, and offerings do not reflect this.

This company has excellent experienced actors who seamlessly switch from role to role - while the set design and costumes are bare bones, this is an enjoyable way for anyone to experience Shakespeare. The music innovations are especially fun - worth spending an evening in downtown Carlsbad, where we found some good restaurants nearby for dinner. Coaster stop is across... More

New Village Arts is performing my favorite comedy of all time "Sylvia". This is the story of a couple who now are empty-nesters leaving a void in their home. Dad has a solution and adopts Sylvia, a dog played by Samantha Ginn. She is fabulous in the role. In fact I think that Sarah Jessica Parker, who originated the role... More

We have been going here for several years. Just went to a Cabaret like show Sunday night. It was marvelous. We tend to stick to musicals and comedy. They also have an artist work and display area which is most interesting. They are a non-profit but the shows are quite professional. Check out what is playing, about 7 or 8... More

small staff with limited budget does a fantastic job of putting on quality shows. there is not a bad seat in the house. wonderful to come early and enjoy dinner in the downtown area before the show. or a drink at one of the many bars afterwards.
