Since moving to the area a few months ago, I discovered, while doing my usual daily walk, a little trail along this wonderful lagoon. It's on the end which flows into the ocean, and from that particular vantage point, there is the most lovely view of the ocean, the coastal highway, the train, and most importantly, the wildlife! Thousands of... More

From afar, the lagoon is a lovely natural feature. As it is tidal influenced, its attractiveness will vary with the tides. In any case, it is not a particularly attractive place close up for walks. The beach would be more preferred for a nature walk.

This is a lovely place to go for a nature walk. It's virtually all on the flat and is a good wide walking trail. The start of the trail is quite noisy due to traffic on the I 5, but the further on you go the quieter it becomes. There's lots of bird life and vegetation with wild flowers. It's... More

Our walk at Batiquitos Lagoon was a highlight of our trip. The trails are nicely maintained, as is the visitor center (open 9-12:30), and there are shaded benches all along the way for rest stops. There's a nice variety of trails: the north end trail is low in the rushes for an up close experience, and the north side trails... More

Very nice wildlife preserve and lagoon. Easy to get to and parking easy. Trail is well kept up and runs along a PGA golf course.

This is a nice place to take a family stroll or a good place for a fast exercising walk. You will see lots of wildlife and lots of flowers. It is very nicely done.

The lagoon is clean, the trail is well maintained. There are places to sit and birdwatch. Big trees offer shade from the sun. Nice place to either exercise or have a romantic walk or be with the family or friends. Bring your own water and food!

This is a peaceful place for a morning (or any time of day) walk. You'll see singles, couples, families walking together. Dog-friendly (on a leash). Beautiful nature alongside the lagoon. A very easy walk.

Actually it is a very nice walking course with the view of lagoon. Although it is a little noisy because it is by busy freeway, But it was OK. The only thing I couldn't stand was the strong Sewer smell from the gate for about 200 yards. I think there are a sewage treatment plant at the gate. Other than... More

I was looking for a comfortable place to take a walk, filled with beautiful foliage and views of the water, and some birds swimming around. I pulled up to the Batiquitos Lagoon parking lot and found myself on the trail circling the water. I only walked about an hour, but could have gone further down the trail, and I stopped... More
