If you love cheese, go there. If you don't, go there. So friendly, helpful and very informational. They are stuffing you full of free samples and you immediately begin to get why people love cheese. We left with 6 thin slices of completely different types of cheeses, but that's not all they have. Wine tastings, crackers, meats, bar hardware and... More

Each time (first time in 1978!) we are visiting Carmel we drop by this amazing specialty shop to enjoy the smells and tastes presented to you by the very knowledgable staff. Their choice of cheese is extensive and we appreciated the short tasting session offered to us. This really is celebrating the art of cheese tasting at the highest level!

My family visits this cheese shop almost daily when in Carmel. It has an extensive selection of cheeses from around the globe. The staff are very knowledgeable about the many cheeses they carry, and generously hand out samples to customers so that the customer finds the perfect cheese for him- or herself. It is also a wine shop. One can... More

My husband and I recently stopped in to pick up a few special cheeses and once again, our experience was so unusually exceptional. The sales people are incredibly well trained and must be selected for their enthusiasm for service as much as their love of fine cheese. We were immediately served the daily featured cheese which was an aged gouda.... More

The Cheese Shop in Carmel has approximately 220 different cheeses on offer so making a selection is no easy matter. Luckily, the knowledge staff is happy to provide plenty of samples, answer questions and make terrific recommendations. The wine selection is superlative and tasting flights are offered in the back of the busy shop to customers 21+ for a small... More

As soon as you walk in your nose his hit with the delightful aroma of cheese. Don't go here hungry, you may order all the cheese. They let you taste everything. So good. We bought 5 cheeses and wanted many more. Very unique options too. Must visit if in Carmel.

Always our first stop when traveling through Carmel. Great place to taste cheese. If your not sure what to get tell them the kind of cheese you like and they will pull out some great selections to try. They have wine, bread, meats and just about everything needed for a great picnic or dinner party.

Your patience will be rewarded with 1:1 attention, and lots of yummy samples to help make your decision. They have wine, cheese, cured meats, fresh bread, and everything else you might need for a romantic charcuterie board. Carmel pro tip: you can buy a bottle of wine and drink it on the beach or other public spaces. Fun fact, they... More
