A wonderful walk with extraordinary views. We began our adventure by walking from the beach end of Linden street in downtown Carpintera. Your walk takes you through camp grounds which border the Pacific ocean, open meadows, along the shore line, and the cliffs. This route is five plus miles round trip. There are access points along the route should you... More

I've been numerous times but yesterday was super cool with all the fog! Love to swim here during the summer. In September they hold the Carpinteria Triathlon. If you are a triathlete this is a great course!

I stopped there early in the morning and just enjoyed watching the waves and the people walking on the beach. Very relaxing.

Go there after 4pm, you'll the tide is getting low and more and more shells appear. We even found many live ones, but we didn't keep them, we put them back in the ocean instead. Sunset is beautiful too!! Great place!!

We walked quite a ways in both directions while enjoying the waves and picking up shells. This seems more like the ocean than Bay of Santa Barbara.

In the winter most beaches are quiet. The water cold but still a nice place to walk. Enjoy a burger at The Spot or a beer at a micro brewery. Greet sunsets

Stayed in the area for a few weeks in winter and walked this beach all the way to Rincon beach and back several times when the tide is low (about 10kms round trip). There is one part where you have to leave the beach and follow a path above the bluff because of the seal rookery, which is off limits... More

Carp State Beach is always busy during the warmer months and is real popular with locals and tourists. Try 'the spot' for an excellent fast food meal just down the road afterwards. Try to get their before or around noon if you're thinking about it. Parking fills up around the local streets pretty quickly and it's much easier to carry... More

Visiting in January, we found a sunny day and headed to this beach. It has a little bit of everything. There is a park right before the beach, volleyball area, picnic tables, and it is just a short walk to the ocean. There were quite a few people for just a 70 degree day. The ocean had kids splashing in... More

Our second trip and camping on the sand. Very nice beach. Shelling was good as a storm had just passed through. Great campground.
