We love to park here, visit the beach, and then walk around the island. Free parking and plentiful. You can walk all the way around to the ferry landing and beyond. Beautiful views and great for kids running off energy. Free!

We visited in February - and it was almost deserted.. On our one sunny day it was wonderful to sit and enjoy solitude. But no matter the weather - this is the place for a GREAT walk on the sand. Miles of clean sand. No services though - restrooms yes, but nothing else..

Came here in the off season. Beautiful white sand beach. Large rolling waves. Did not swim as it was February. I walked here from where I stayed so not sure the cost of parking but did note there is a camp ground and a large parking lot. You can literally walk for miles. Found some sand dollars and small shells.... More

Yes, you park your motorhome in a parking lot-like area -- but it's right on the sand and beautiful beach! You have the ocean waves lapping-up in view and in sound all day and all night. It's absolutely lovely!!

We had friends staying here and they invited us for dinner. We read the instructions that the gates closed at 9pm on Saturday. When our friends went to the gate at 8:45 the gate was locked. The campground hosts refused to come to the door to talk with us. We contacted the state to find out how to get out... More

We visited here based on reviews indicating best place for sea shells. It did not disappoint. Beautiful beach with breathtaking views. You do have to pay to enter for a day pass as it is a state park. Kids spent hours building sand castles and basking in the California weather. Apparently this is so close to Mexico that our wireless... More

This RV park is merely a paved parking lot with water/electric hookups. There is a man-made sea wall between the RV park and the ocean. If you climb to the top of this sand partition, you can see the ocean. You cannot see the ocean from any site unless you climb on top of your camper. The park is right... More

Took a windy walk on Christmas day. Surprised by all the trash on the beach. Wouldn't have wanted to spread out a blanket and spend much time there. Also, there were signs posted that the water quality wasn't good and it wasn't safe to swim.

I will start off with this park is beautiful. We live in San Diego and booked this place at the last minute due to someone's cancellation. I will add that it was New Years so we did expect some late night noise. We went on Friday and New Year's Eve was Saturday night. It rained that night so that kept... More

We came by to do a stroller run on the nearby bike path but first had to stop by the beach! My 2-year-old loved playing in the soft sand and really didn't want to leave! So it was an excellent way to spend the morning. Parking fee is $8, you can pay via cash or kiosk at a machine at... More
