The place to take your dogs
Jul 2021
This dog beach is better than Ocean Beach dog beach--owners are more aware of their dogs, take better care of dog doodoo, interact with one another
better, and are overall more conscientious. Plus, there's a handy hose-off set up for the dogs at the entrance, which is nice if your fur baby is sandy! We travel with a deaf dog, so she can be aggressive when surprised by visiting canines in her "space", but everyone is understanding and we watch her constantly for being surprised.

Dogs on the loose!
Feb 2021
So many happy fur-balls, all running, chasing balls, braving the cold water, and (surprisingly) all getting along really well! This expanse of beach is located between the military fencing and signage and the end of the Hotel Del Coronado. We could have stayed for hours just watching them cavort.

We don't have a dog but we always enjoy walking along beautiful Coronado beach from the Del north to Dog Beach where we watch all the happy dogs playing in the ocean. So much fun!

Fun beach day
Jun 2020 • Family
We spent two wonderful days by Coronado beach with our kid and dog. It was fun to let her run off leash and play with other dogs. We built castles and played toys. Parking is usually easy just be patient.
On the second day my son did get stung by a stingray and was in a world of hurt. However it is common and happens to the best of them. Just be safe and watch your loved ones.

Shangri-La For Dogs
Mar 2020
The northern part of the beach offers an area for pooches to run, chase each other, get wet and enjoy a state of bliss.

There's something about seeing dogs in/around the water as they enjoy the elements. Even if not a dog owner, worth the trip to visit to enjoy some four-legged friends enjoying the outdoors

If you love dogs...
Feb 2020
We stay in Coronado during the winter months. Our daughter has three (!!) dogs and we always meet her at the HUGE dog beach on the weekend. Great place for meeting other dog lovers.

Great for woofer freedom.
Feb 2020
A quality beach experience for dogs and humans and one of the very few places you can let your woofer off leash in Coronado. There is plenty of parking even if a short walk from the neighborhood area adjacent to the park. Coronado is very serious about dogs on leash and picking up after your pet, so this beach is freedom from the leash law. If it is your first visit with your dog to saltwater, know that many dogs will get sick shortly after romping in the surf from ingesting the water, and it often happens in the car on the way home. Although often crowded on weekends, everyone seems to get along well ... dogs and their owners.

decent off-leash area for dogs
Jan 2020 • Solo
although somewhat crowded on the day i visited, my dog and i had a good time. folks were attentive to their dogs, and this area of the beach appeared to be well maintained. there were water fountains and restrooms nearby. and, even though it was mid-morning on a Saturday, i found parking just a few blocks away.
