Stone Brewing Co. was founded in 1996 by Steve Wagner and Greg Koch in North County San Diego, CA. It is the largest craft brewery in the southwestern United States and has been named "All-Time Top Brewery on Planet Earth" by BeerAdvocate magazine - TWICE! A recently announced $26.6M expansion plan (that includes a hotel among other lofty ventures) is underway, as are developments to become the first American craft brewery to open a brewhouse in Europe. The adjacent Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens plays host to countless wildly popular beer and dining events, and is the largest purchaser of local, organic produce in San Diego County, including a growing amount from their own Stone Farms! In addition to promoting ethical eating, the restaurant boasts a lush one-acre outdoor garden as well as a line-up of 32 rotating taps and 100+ bottled craft beer selections for guests to enjoy.

Have always been a big fan of Stone Brewery beers so this a must go on my trip out to San Diego. Was not disappointed. Amazing facility and friendly staff. If you have the time definitely take the tour. It's very inexpensive and comes with several beer samples. The food is a little "different" for a brewery but overall this... More

We had a little trouble finding this gorgeous spot, but once we found it we were enamored with it's beauty. A nice selection of brews - I'm not an IPA fan but put together a flight of coffee milk stout, Xocoveza, and 2 others I can't remember the names of - but they were all very delicious and drinkable. Our... More

Out of the way location. The garden setting in in the restaurant is perfect. Better than a German Beer Garden due to the comfort of the umbrellas for shade. Wonderful selection of beer, great and varied menu. Service was friendly, attentive. The decor is interesting and relaxing. Would highly recommend. Good for any occasion. You'll leave with a smile!

The ambiance is great, food somewhat trendy, pretty expensive, good service. Stone Brewing is one of a growing number of breweries in the area so might be fun for people to go beer hopping. Take your wallet!

Our entire group enjoyed the brewery experience. Based on having visited earlier - see previous review - we booked a birthday celebration here. The experience did not disappoint. We will be back.

The title of this review sums up my husbands love for Stone beer and now the brewery... We went on a tour that lasted about 20 minutes or so, very informative and funny! We then got 4 tasters and got to keep the glass. Only $3...we then went and sat out in the garden... Very relaxing and fun.

My husband and I went on the tour. I couldn't believe how cheap it was and that we got so many samples afterward. Our guide was great and gave a fun presentation full of lots of information. The landscaping here is quite lovely. Made for a unique date.

I had pretty big expectations from this brewery, it didn't pass even my minimum requirements for a craft brewery. My wife and I went to their location on Kettner in SD and were greatly disppointed. The staff was less than helpful and the beer wasn't all that great. I came I thinking Stone was essentially the Sam Adams of the... More

We had the shrimp and grits. Possibly the best I've ever had and I've spent a fair amount of time In the South. Creamy, smooth, well seasoned and filling. One meal enough for lunch for two. Mmmm oh yeah they have beer too.
