If you want some history on Folsom, Ca, visit this little local museum. Located right on Sutter Street which makes a great day trip. Visit the museum, have lunch and do a little shopping. Good family day out. The museum has a good gift shop and great volunteer staff

If you’re touring Sutter Street/Folsom Old Town, an experience I recommend, buy a combination ticket and walk through both this museum and the one across the street, charmingly called the Museum of Wonder and Delight; the tickets are inexpensive, and neither museum will use up much time. The Museum of Wonder and Delight houses an eccentric collection of toys and... More

I wanted to stop in and check out the Folsom Museum and what a delight! There is a lot of history here in Folsom and they have great info - pictures - newspaper articles etc. But the one thing I wanted to see was their display of Victorian Era Dressing for Women - I do know that I would not... A very interesting historical memorabilia collection of Folsom. A block from the museum; one could view a yard full of many historical equipments, tools, passenger train and a chance to experience panning for gold!

Although it was closed, I read the plaque outside and was able to make out the the inside from the window. I will be back.

We went because they had a quilt special exhibition, which was wonderful. Then we looked through the rest of the items on display and it was also very informative. Will bring our out-of-town guests eventually!

Wonderful local museum highlighting the city of Folsom's past, with rotating exhibits and great permanent exhibit. The museum is a short walk from the light rail station making access super easy. The museum is great for all ages.

A good place to learn about the history of California and the local history. It covers the gold rush and how the area developed after the rush so it thrives today. Funky yet nicely done and organized. Dedicated volunteers are readily available and enthusiastic. Across the square which has a replica if how trains were turned is a new museum... More

Nice small museum run on donations only. (No entrance fee.) Interesting insight as to what life was like in Folsom years ago. Working blacksmith shop, train car, original cabin saved by the people of Folsom, and info on mining in area.

This Museum is an amazing collection of Professor Dolph Gotelli's Christmas characters, vintage toys and international folk art. It truly is for people of all ages who love the dreams associated with Christmas. Although it is a bit hard to find because it is the corner of a public garage just find Karin's wonderful restaurant and this is right across... More
