Nice place for a picnic

Nice open space with plenty of picnic tables. Don't come if you're afraid of squirrels. Nice view of the lake and the dam.

There's many access points to Folsom Lake but Beal's Point and Granite Bay State Parks are the 2 popular sun and water spots. Where Granite Bay is a little busier and a younger crowd (still lots of families), Beal's Point is geared toward get togethers, families, fishing and play. There's also day and overnight camping.

Sweet place to camp in the spring. Sheltered from winds off the lake. Plenty of room to relax, walk or ride your bike. Folsom Lake is full of water right now.

Nice to see and walk around down by the Lake Area...gives you a great view of what the Lake/Dam area looks like from close up.

I ran to Beals Point from downtown Folsom on the trails that follow the American River. The trails are smooth and clearly labeled. And I saw Jack Rabbits on the trail! A special treat

Super easy to find and the campsites are well laid out and not on top of each other. We stayed in an outer loop site. There is a lot of poison oak. The bathrooms were clean and they even have showers. We are headed out on the American River Bikeway which begins right here and goes 32 miles into Sacramento.... More

For a late winter or early spring trip, the campground at Beals Point provides a quiet, natural place to camp among oak trees. During an early warm spell on our mid-February tent camping trip, the grass was green and the trees were full of birds. We were not in view of the lake (where water levels were rising). Although we... More

Unless it's drought conditions, as we are experiencing now, Folsom Lake is a great place to play. Beals Point has a nice campground, a boat launch, picnic areas, restrooms, a large grassy play area and a beach. Not much water activity going on now, but a bike trail and some hiking trails pass through this area, so it's still fun... More
