Heard about it for decades and finally made the visit. Great opportunity to see what human imagination can do in a real life situation without an amusement park setting and price tag. Very worthwhile and enjoyable way to spend a morning or afternoon.

What an interesting place telling a unique story of California immigration and settlement. Adults and kids alike will enjoy visiting Forestiere curious underground project. The guided tour provides great information about the origins, development and features of the cave maze which is beautifully preserved. It's cool underground, even on hot days and the citrus trees loaded with fruits are a... More

Have visited twice. Unique place and great history. Went in the summer and it was nice and cool below ground. Will definitely visit again next time I have out of town guests!

I went here a few years ago. It is worth your time. A single guy built a underground motel. Temperatures in summer can exceed 100+during summer. He figured how to beat the heat before air conditioners. Call ahead and make sure there open and tour times..

This was my sisters idea for a special day for the two of us. I was unsure about the idea of walking in a "garden" but WOW this was spectacular, such a cool thing. I would recommend to everyone!!!

Forestiere was a visionary! Even when it was over 100 degrees outside, the tour was a comfortable temperature. The amount of work this man did is inspirational. With great forethought and planning he worked to make his dream come true. Driving by the property, you would never imagine that below the soil was a complete home and more.

If you haven't visited, I suggest you do. It's an awesome experience. You are toured thru underground living of this man who made it all happen. Pretty interesting place.
