OPEN SAT,SUN 12-4:30 Extended summer hours (Memorial Day -Labor day) adds FRI Frick Winery specializes in Rhone Varieties. Carignane, Cinsaut, Counoise, Grenache, Grenache Blanc, Mourvedre, Syrah, Viognier and Rhone Blends. While the other kids played cowboys and Indians, Bill Frick played winery. After visiting a winery when 8, Bill had caught the wine bug. Frick Winery began in 1976 with proceeds from the sale of a 1957 Chevrolet. Bill employs honest traditional methods. Making wines naturally, with hand harvest, punching the cap by hand, bucketing skins, no fining or filtering, small oak aging. These practices produce wines that are remarkably complex and honest to the grape. Bill says, "Wine is about the grape. My goal is to show the unique character of each grape variety, vineyard and vintage in every bottle."

I like to visit Frick any time that I'm in the area. It is such a sweet spot and the wines are made with grapes that you may not have heard of before such as Cinsaut and Counaise.

We apparently went the right weekend as there was a wine tasting weekend going on in all the vineyards. It was funny to see people walking around with wine glasses in there hands just walking down the streets from winery to winery in town, some were even in costumes.

I really loved this place. It's so good when you get to meet the owner, wine maker and the guy who does everything. I was a fan of his Syrah. He was so nice to talk to and his wine was so yummy. It's a must stop. you will love it.

Small, interesting tasting room. Wines were really quite good. We didn't get to meet the winemaker, he was out of town and we were sorry to miss him because we had heard he was part of the fun, but he had left us in good hands.

Bill Frick is quite a special person. A guy that "does it my way," Bill is still someone you need to meet and talk with. Very special wines. We bought several.

This winery specializes in grape varieties found in the South of France. I am most intrigued with the wines. Not your typical selection found in Napa and Sonoma, the wines are a whole new dynamic. The wines are well made and present well when young. Be forewarned, however, Frick is so small the tasting room is only open Friday, Saturday,... More

I appreciate a winemaker's style and ideas of what they are trying to accomplish even if i don't like the wine - and we did buy some of the Lucia Red Blend from Frick. What is difficult is that after the wine speaks for itself, the engagement with the person behind the counter - in this case the owner -... More

Mr Frick really loves what he does. We had a wine tour, and this was stop #2 on the list. This is a definite must stop. His wine variety are almost all from the Rohn valley in France and make for very interesting and very different wines. After a day of Zinfindels, this really stood out. The wine tasting area...
