This is more of a recreation area than it is a park. It is an open grazing area so if walking dogs beware of coming up on cattle. There are several gates to go through, please leave them how you found them, closed. Enjoy being outdoors and free so close to the city.

Parking is $5. A good place to go hiking with dogs. Many people are BBQ there. Many benches and trees are at the park. There is a nice peaceful lake at the park.

Great park offering picnic tables, bbq grills and bathrooms! $5 parking fee in summer. Walking trails with great view if you choose to go upward. Good family choice....bring your own Frisbees, badminton etc...there are no playground areas.

Garin is a beautiful example of what California once looked like--open pastures on hillsides, live oaks, and streams. Cattle still graze the steep slopes of the Hayward Hills overlooking the picnic tables and hiking trails. The park hosts a calendar of activities--harvest festivals, apple picking parties, etc.

Garin Regional Park is very close to our house. We love this park, it has a variety of gradients of hills and flats and pretty soothing water sound on section of the trail. It usually not too crowded so it's very peaceful. Especially of the recent rain for winter of 2016, everything is green with an explosion of California poppies... More

Gavin park is located midway through Hayward just off Mission Blvd, this is a back to nature place it has many paths to walk a nice place to picnic. For a place like Garin park to be located the in city and still be in the country is great.

Nice place to hike; many trails to choose from! The trails vary from wide to narrow, from sunny to shady, and it's in general pretty flat. It's pretty clean too, and there are BBQ pits as well as big grassy areas. The view at the top is alright; there are a lot of hills in the way so there's not... More

I under estimated the trails thru Garin. It was the most breath taking experience. Going beyond the gates,u are unaware of the gorgeous views, and the length of the trails. We did the whole stretch, reaching the peak of Garin, and it was exciting. I climbed Mission Peak in Fremont, but the smaller trails, and the different trails leading to the Peak, then back down was...
