Papapietro Perry Winery specializes in small lots of handcrafted,...

Papapietro Perry Winery specializes in small lots of handcrafted, single-vineyard designate Pinot Noir and Zinfandel produced from the finest grapes the Russian River, Anderson and Dry Creek Valleys have to offer. In addition, we are now producing a limited amount of Chardonnay and Rose. When asked what style of wine we make, the response is always ‘great wines’. After we’ve all laughed, the real answer emerges. After almost 30 years of winemaking, we still firmly believe in a minimalist approach—allowing the wine to express itself and reflect the growing season through the nuances that appear from vintage to vintage. For this to happen and to produce those ‘great wines’, it is vital to pay attention to every detail; carefully attending to every step of the winemaking process, yet always with a light hand. We don’t over-extract or over-oak our wines. We give the wines the fermentation and aging environments that allow them to become exceptional—so we can smell and taste what the fruit has to offer us.

Excellent mid range wines at good price points are featured here. Pinots are the best bet. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the tasting room intimate and dog friendly, making Papapietro Perry a great place to visit for a relaxed and enjoyable wine tasting. Parking is easy and plentiful. Recommended. Cheers!

This winery is located on a hill and amongst a group of several wineries sharing some space to show off their products. This one was recommended but we were unaware this was a Pinot Noir focused winery – and we just aren’t big fans of it. We tried a few, but as expected just not big fans.

We visited this winery with high hopes. The wines were fair but thought that this thing of paying $20 each for tasting even if you purchase wine is not a practice that makes sense. We didn't buy any wine. I was unaware that my friends had paid for us and I passed over $40. The guy behind the counter said... More

I am sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience with us. I do want to clarify that our tasting fee is $10 per person, not $20. Sorry about the confusion on the tip, but our staff does often receive tips, some of which are very generous, so it was understandable for him to assume that it was... More

Out of all the wineries we visited, we joined the club at Papapietro Perry so as not to miss its exquisite pinots and other delicious offerings. Ben Papapietro himself was there when we visited (his sister-in-law Nancy expertly walking us through our tasting), and he clearly took pride in his product. They have a neat story and even finer wine.... More

Thank you so much for the nice review. We're so happy to hear that you enjoyed our wines. Just one clarification, Nancy J. is Renae's sister, not Ben's sister-in-law. The winery is owned by Ben and Yolanda Papapietro and Bruce and Renae Perry. But we are one big happy family, so it feels like we're all related! Thanks again, hope... More

These are our favorite wines and have been since visiting 5 years ago. The stop here is always filled with pleasant surprises. We think their pinots are the best out there bar none but were pleasantly surprised by their zins which were outstanding. Very much a word of mouth place. If you like great wine, you MUST try Papapietro Perry!

Words can hardly describe the wines produced here. I initially discovered Papapietro from another winery who said I have to try them. The night after my visit, my concierge also stated what a great wine to try and that "Papa" is really a secret place for wine connoisseurs. Staff: from my first and all subsequent visits, the team here is... More

Papapietro Perry creates among the absolute best Pinot Noirs in California, and the team that makes the magic has a great time doing it. We were lucky to visit for our tasting on the day they were bottling 2014 vintages, and got schooled on the process. Thanks to Shelley and Kristen Greenberg for their time and talent!

We were looking for a small winery and found this gem. They offered "Pino on the Patio" where they paired the wines with outstanding cheeses and gave the history of the winery and wines. They even showed us the different types of soil each grape came from. Bet you never heard that before! Was so much fun and I would... More
