We loved homewood, having skied all the big resorts this the low key, family centered was just lovely. No boarders or skiers 'tearing' it up which was important to us as we were skiing with our children who are only in their second year. No lift lines most runs are groomed and best of all the spectacular lake views. Some... More

How about you announce the road is closed to your ski area before we have to re-route? Well since it's only two hours the other way who cares. I guess Homewood could give a refund, but that takes the criminality out of the equation. What a rip off. Be honest and let all know about the road closure.

Outstanding views and the terrain was a nice surprise. Good variety from beginner to expert. A big issue are the lifts. S. l..o..w..e..s..t lifts ever. Makes it an unlikely return visit.

We live in Utah, and had never skied in the Lake Tahoe area, but we made a short trip to Reno for work and stayed a couple of extra days to ski. After extensive research, we decided to ski one day at Squaw Valley (on a Friday), and then one day at Homewood (on Saturday). Our rationale was that: 1)... More

If you're into the flash of Vail, Deer Valley or Squaw, avoid Homewood. If you want a mellow place to ski, with enough black runs to challenge yourself but blue and green for the less adventurous members of your family, come to Homewood. We were here during the surprise blizzard of March 3-5 and had a blast, even with only... More

If you're a skier, you've hit all the big boys: Squaw, Alpine Northstar, Heavenly Sierra and Kirkwood. Look a little harder and you'll find the hidden skiing gems like Homewood. Bad snow years means poor skiing here as it's lower in elevation than many. Bit in good snow years and this is a once in a life snow year, Homewood... More

Last year was my wife's first time skiing and it was here at Homewood, a friend told us about Homewood so we decided to give it a try. For me it was my first time at skiing in about 20 years! So after many lessons last season for my wife (thankfully she stuck with it), and a few falls for... More
