After a day of surfing and beach, hanging out downtown is probably the best thing to do. And Huntington has some of the best beach food and surf shops around.

Nice place to spend an afternoon. Outdoor dining and some allow dogs, which is nice. In December, Santa sits out on one sidewalk and poses for pictures. Lots of bars, usually busy when the weather is nice.

It's a bit expensive but not too bad with lots of shopping and many different food and bar options. It's a great spot to sit and grab a beer and watch the world go by, especially on a Tuesday night when the street is closed for the market.

Downtown Huntington Beach is a typical "beach city" with a downtown of funky shops and restaurants from fast food to fine dining. Every Tuesday is a street fair with fresh fruits and veggies, pop-up restaurants, live music and other attractions for adults and kids. You will see locals roaming the streets in beach attire and tourists wandering. A few blocks... More

This place is never boring. There are so many restaurants to choose from, many of which have lunch specials. It's interesting watching people from all different cities or countries enjoying the sites & eateries.

I've lived in HB for 30+ years. Even though it has lost much of its unique charm it remains a beautiful beach city. Most of the 8 mile strip of beach is without buildings. The few small structures scattered are placed to allow rentals & your regular beach food. The reconstructed pier is a great place to watch surfers &... More

Okay but filled primarily with chain stores like Billabong and Hurley. I'd recommend Seal Beach for cute, local shops over Huntington. Nice beach, though - fun place to watch the surfers!

On our ninth wedding anniversary, we went to Huntington Beach for a nice romantic weekend. It is a fun bar and restaurant scene in a quaint downtown area. Right on the ocean which is a bonus

Downtown Huntington Beach still has the small town memories. Though it is growing, some of past remains. It is fun to stroll the streets, window shop, eat in one of the great restaurants, stop for coffee or ice cream or just people watch. I am from out of state but have lived in Huntington Beach for decades. I so enjoy... More
