A nice way to spend a couple of hours.

I learned a lot about the history of this desert area. They had artifacts from a blacksmith shop, an old house to tour, a room of memorabilia from 1965 when the museum opened, a... read more

I really wanted to like this place as I love history, the grounds were nicely kept and the personnel/volunteers were extremely pleasant and nice and friendly. However, I felt the exhibits were randomly placed and some with very little tie in to the previous exhibit or even no relationship to the desert Valley. It just seemed to be a bunch... More

I learned a lot about the history of this desert area. They had artifacts from a blacksmith shop, an old house to tour, a room of memorabilia from 1965 when the museum opened, a date history museum and small garden area. The staff was very friendly.

My family and I visited this History Museum and learned a lot from the Coachella Valley. My daughter and my niece took a History class that lasted for about four weeks so we went there as a family on their last day for a presentation that was very well organized and everyone did a great performance.

Loved the history presented here. Exhibits show the history of coachella valley, farming lands, school district. Has original school house on the property. Beautiful grounds. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff.

We went to the museum and found it very interesting! Especially educational were the displays of how the area developed and changed over time. We did our own tour. Old agricultural tools were great to see.

$8 for seniors and $10 others. Lots of parking across the street. Set in past home of a local doctor. Can have a docent tour to get feedback on questions or do a self guided tour with their brochure and reading explanations under photos. Limited opening days so check but has been open Thursday through the weekend. Other than history... More

So going here was a last minute decision. The rest of the things I had intended to do on this day were either closed or took less time then expected. After getting back to my resort, I did some research and found out that although there is normally a cost of $12 for this museum, if you go on the... More

This is a wonderful place to spend some time and find out how the early settlers to the Coachella Valley lived. Interesting old schoolhouse and other buildings of interest Near old town Indio, stop by the Deli on Miles afterwards for lunch to round out your day.
