Lahemaa NP is easy to reach from Tallinn when you rent a car . It's worth exploring , there are a lot of walking tracks and maybe you get the chance of seeing some wildlife . In didn't see it , but maybe I was travelling in the wrong period . But you can certainly enjoy a few lovely villages... More

Lahemaa National Park is quite easy to reach, has variety of different landscapes and good paths. You don't need to be a real hiker to enjoy this.

Drove out from Tallinn to visit this national park on the Gulf of Finland. We found nice hiking trails, quaint holiday villages, and beautiful coastline. There's always descriptive signs in English to read and learn about the points of interest, geology, and flora. Happy we went out. Under an hour by car from town.

Loved our tour through the park as part of a longer tour to the Baltic capitols. The forest areas are a delight and we were lucky the weather was good for our walk. A fabulous place to enjoy clean air and beautiful scenery!

Wonderful countryside, ideal for walking short or long distances. Plenty of wildlife. We visited the Viru Bog, which had boardwalks all the way round to protect the landscape and keep your feet dry! There was a brood of 4 recently fledged swallows in the roof of the viewing tower, and they were being fed by the adults as we watched.... More

Lahemaa National Park is a nice park with some eccellent walking trails. We did two; the one near Kásmu and the trail through the swamp. Loved it.

Not so far from Tallinn you find this peaceful National Park. Many old buildings are restaured and kept well. Manors on this area offer hotel rooms in truly special enviroments. Restaurants can be found at the Manors. And if you are By boat, there are some little harbours to choose.

If you want to break out of Tallinn, go east to the Lahemaa National Park. It's ~1h car ride and you reach beautiful woods, amazing small villages with breathtaking views and much more. You can spend all day hiking, or just go from one place to another to enjoy the atmosphere and try local cuisine. Definitely worth visiting even with... More
