So sad to see how run down this place was. This place has a lot of history and would think the town would take an interest in the upkeep of it.

There is really a number of different cemeteries here. Be sure to notice the Pioneer (dating from the 1850's), Jewish (across the street from the Pioneer), Catholic and Serbian Orthodox (around St. Sava's Church) cemeteries. Gold miners, the last man killed in a Wells Fargo...More

This is an older cemetery in downtown Jackson that is unique for its really old Graves and headstones. This could be a very pretty cemetery but it is not kept up very well but is still worth it to see.

I enjoy going to pioneer cemeteries and Amador County has a lot of them. We only had time to go to one and it was St. Sava Serbian cemetery and church. You can see the steeple from Hwy 49/88. We pulled into the parking lot...More

It was on a hill and the drive thru is a little rough. But it is worth seeing. There is so much history. You don't very often get to see such beautiful and elaborate tombstones any more.

I was impressed with the age and the generational family plots and tombs,Unfortunately, time and weather has taken a toll on many of the stones. Still, it is a historical record of many of the pioneer families of the area. Just 2-3 blocks from downtown,...More

Interest taste of jackson's history in the two-three cemeteries that run together. I enjoy walking the area and reading epitaphs. Worth visiting. Not a lot of trees, so bring a hat or go during the spring or fall.
