We did the Salt Point trail from Gerstle Cove and it was very beautiful! Flat bluff trail with roaring waves, fantastic ocean views and amazing tafoni rock formations.

This is our favorite walk. If you walk along the ocean from the fire road around and back, it will take about an hour. Gerstle Cove is about half way. Park on right of Hwy 1, a wide shoulder past Gerstle Cove.

This was one of the first places we stopped on a road trip from San Fran up the coast to Oregon. It was lovely. We stayed at the campgrounds here, which were sparsely populated that night, very quiet, and very well kept with regular toilets....More

We happened upon the park on an incredible day. No wind with high swells. The spray was shooting high. Just gorgeous sights. The rock formations are pretty on their own. Saw several seals.

A spectacular coast to walk and look out at the Pacific Ocean. The waves crashing on the rocks were mesmerizing! Bundle up when it's windy, but well worth it. The trails are in great condition. Go!!

I live in Mill Valley. From my home which is 20 minutes from SF Marina--over the Golden Gate. I go there regularly and it is about 1.5 hours. I go through Petaluma and then hit hwy 1. Lovely drive. Love it all!
