It's not big as many people said. I would recommend it if you're traveling with young kids. It's effortless spending 3-4 hours here with children. You should track down all the shows--the time table should allow you to almost watch them one after the other. The aquarium is in the castle building, do not miss of course. There are some... More

Maybe because my expectation level wasn't too high that I enjoyed quite much. It was comfortable and was interesting marine park. I don't have kids but seen many excited kids running here and there. I thought it was little high cost compare to the enjoyment that I had but wasn't bad at all. (but with the parking fee I still... More

There are some shows that are better than other marine parks such as the Dolphin show which is ok and the sardine shows. Other than that, the place is a little run down and sad.

I like coming to Japanese Marine Parks especially when there aren't many foreigners. It is clean and not smelly with all the normal stuff you see in marine parks worth a visit if have extra time

We came here for the penguin parade, as we were told the more famous Asahiyama zoo penguin parade wasn't all year round. This park is a small and compact park with each attraction very close and planned one after another for maximum time experience. The shows were great and fun. Animals and all seemed well taken care of.

I'm a former marine and freshwater aquarium hobbyist, who likes visiting public aquaria. This one wasn't so bad; a good number of small (50-200 gallon) tanks with local and international fish (about 5 of which are reef tanks, the rest only for a few organisms), two fairly big interactive pools with tidepool creatures and another with rays. I think these... More

We visited in October to catch the Penguin Parade after catching a documentary on the park on NHK. My wife and I had fun with the attractions available at the park. Being small, we didn't have to walk around much to enjoy everything. You will need to arrive early in the morning so that you can plan and maximize your... More

The Asahiyama zoo didn't have the penguin parade in summer but the Noboribetsu Marine Park did so my kid had a great time to see the penguins. We also watched the dolphin show as well. This is not a big park and you can spend about 2 to 3 hours there. A lovely park for kids!

Good for families where you don't have to spend much energy on walk. Head to this park if you wanted a relax time here. The compound is small but still have a lot to things to see. Convenient to go as it is at walking distance from the JR station. Save you the troublesome to get a public transport.
