The aquarium has lots of things for people of all ages. Huge touch aquarium, large aquariums to watch all kinds of fish, special programs like shark feedings to watch. Best part is the lovely view of the ocean from the back of the aquarium by the touch aquarium. Reasonably priced with free parking.

We took our 23 month old daughter and she loved it. The view from the balcony on the backside of the aquarium is amazing. There is a nice kids area that she really enjoyed. Lots of California native marine life and the large glass aquarium in the back of the building is a highlight.

The Birch Aquarium is a relaxing way to spend a couple of hours. Located on the bluffs of La Jolla the view off the back patio tidepools is priceless! You could sit with a book for hours enjoying that gaze. Inside consists of numerous tanks of colorful fish. Additionally, there are two very large room sized tanks that are breath-taking.... More

While the kelp tank show is a special event, the museum has a series of large and small tanks full of exotic fish. If you had to pick one group, the seahorse no bigger than a dime to the one that looks like a floating ballerina is a striking image.

Maybe it was because of the fact that we've visited an especially majestic aquarium before going to this one, but when we went, we were somewhat disappointed. The tanks and fishes seem to be well-maintained (I'm no fish expert), but it's small and it didn't have as many fish as I was hoping for. I was kind of hoping there'd... More

Small but well kept, this aquarium has very nice displays. Slow admission process but only fun afterwards. Loved the jellyfish and eel exhibits.

Swimming Sea Turtles! That's enough but there were also leafy dragons, lions and stonefish and glorious jellies. Entrance has a large round tank of sardines, I always thought they were small: these are packed in like sardines in a, well, if not can, a school! So many so tight always swimming ... Yes, I could have stayed there all day,... More
