Highly educational and entertaining
Sep 2021 • Family
I purchased my tickets online to avail of my AAA discount. I also made sure to go to Aquarium of the Pacific's website to make a free reservation to enter at a designated time that matched the time I picked on the tickets. When my group and I entered the Aquarium the latter wasn't necessary after all.

Face masks were required since this was mostly indoors, but our visit was such a wonderful experience. The various aquariums separating the fish and other sea creatures from Southern California all the way to the Pacific Northwest were so interesting and amazing to look at. If I only lived close by I would have traded my tickets to an annual pass so that I could visit regularly. I would highly recommend everyone, young and old, to visit Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.

A great Aquarium to visit in Long Beach, CA
Aug 2021
We had to make a reservation, pay for the tickets. wait in line. I have to say everything was well organized. Once we got in the aquarium it wasn't overly crowed. There were room to maneuver freely throughout. Every exhibit was awesome. Exhibits, included sea otters, sharks, sea jellies, frogs it was a good size aquarium. Very educational and entertaining. The restaurant was closed but the gift store was open. The surrounding area is amazing that's a whole another post. I would recommend this aquarium for all ages.

So many different species in one place. Great
Apr 2021 • Family
I love this aquarium and I encourage other people to see it at least once. We saw so many different species which normally live in the ocean. It is really worth to see and it is worth every dollar we paid. You must to visit this place

Beautiful facility; lots of fun
Jul 2021
Lots and lots of fun. Very kid friendly. Here are the tips you need:

-- You have to purchase your ticket ahead of time and select and entry time
-- If there's a huge line waiting outside that is for people who have arrived much earlier than their ticketed time. If you get there for your ticket time you can go to the front and head right in
--Get an early entry time if possible; the later in the day the more people are there because once you enter you can stay as long as you want. It got quite crowded by mid afternoon
-- The map was a bit confusing but you can get through the upstairs attractions quicker so may be a good strategy to start there first
-- Outside there are several hands-on experiences for kids (and adults) like touching sting rays and small sharks
--THERE IS A FULL BAR! It's tucked away in the outside area to the far left of the hands-on pool
-- If you are concerned about COVID/Delta be aware that masks were required but there are a lot of people in there so distancing is largely impossible, and many people didn't wear their masks properly.

Great Experience
It was a great overall experience. I took a friend of mine that has never visited the aquarium of the pacific and she had a great time. We managed to get to Lorikeet Forest past 3pm and fed the birds which was a fun experience. If you do arrive around this time you will miss a show they do with the seals & sea lions. If you want to see this it would be best to get early tickets.

I went with my daughter and two grandchildren (6 and 11). It was great. Everyone loved it. One of the highlights was petting the Stingrays.

Awesome experience

Amazing aquarium with many coral reef display tanks and interactive fun stuff. Lots of staff to help you answer questions you may have. The seal tank is especially cool and the souvenir shop doesn’t disappoint. I always get a magnet and they had a great selection.

Everything you need to know before going to the Aquarium of the Pacific
– Make sure to plan your visit ahead and purchase your ticket ahead of time too! I’d suggest weeks in advance, they do well out fast! Everyone must have a timed ticket or online reservation before coming to the Aquarium.

– Bring your masks! All guests ages two and over are required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth at all times. The Aquarium requires both vaccinated and unvaccinated guests and staff to wear a mask both indoors and outdoors.

– Numerous hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the Aquarium and near any touch area. Remember to use them after touching a surface.

– As per usual, visitors who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, fever, or recent loss taste or smell are asked to visit another time.

– Aquarium staff will be constantly sanitizing all touched surfaces throughout the day.

– Shows, mascot appearances, and behind-the-scenes tours are temporarily suspended.

– Take a water bottle, touch less water bottle refill stations will be available.

– It is HOT this summer, wear sunblock!

– Pack a picnic or purchase from their food concession stands.

– Bring a light sweater, it gets chilly indoors!

– Wear comfortable shoes, there is tons of walking.

– If you park in the parking structure across the street, be sure to bring your ticket to get validation at your exit. It’s only for a few hours, be sure to pay before getting back into your car at the first floor of the structure.

– If you or your kids plan on touching the shark and rays, bring an extra change of clothes, sometimes they wave back and splash you completely!
