Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

There are certain buildings in every city that are must-see destinations for lovers of history and architecture and the Bradbury Building in Los Angeles is one of them.

The timeless, fantastic Bradbury Building  at Broadway and Third Street is a much-beloved Downtown Los Angeles landmark, most widely known for its significant appearances in movies including the original Blade Runner, (500) Days of Summer, and Marlowe.

*Note, you are not allowed to video in the Bradbury Building.

The Bradbury building was built in 1893. it was finished months after Mr. Bradbury died. The cost was $500,000. It is 5 stories and is used as an office building. Tours are available to the public. The glass elevators and the atrium skylight are very distinctive. Lots of movies and videos have been filmed here. Go see it!

A downtown Los Angeles landmark, the Bradbury Building is a must visit for lovers of history and architecture.

Behind its modest, mildly Romanesque exterior lies a magical light-filled Victorian court that rises almost fifty feet with open cage elevators, marble stairs, and ornate iron railings.

More than 100 years after its 1893 opening, the building continues to be known for it's significant appearances in films including "Blade Runner", "Marlowe", "D.O.A", and "Lethal Weapon 4".

Photos are welcome, however video is not permitted in the Bradbury Building.

If you like Blade Runner, you must see the Bradbury building. It was still closed when we were there. I looked through the window on the door and took a few photos. I will have to return when it is open. There are some posters in front of the building about Blade Runner and the history of the building. They need to be refurbished as they are in disrepair. Across the street is the Grand Central Market.

Unique architecture inside and well worth a visit if you're in downtown. It's free, but you can only climb one set of stairs which is enough to take some cool photos. The rest of the space is in office / private use.

Cool architecture in historic downtown building. We entered from the north door. We could visit the lobby area only. The midday light made the skylight fabulous. If you like Blade Runner, you must visit this building, which is now an office building. We took many photos with our phones. Cameras are not allowed. It is worth a short visit and is totally free.

If you loved Blade Runner, you have to take a peak at the lobby of this extraordinary building. It is a working office building, so you can't ride the classic elevators. But you are allowed to gawk at the lobby and admire the unlikely architecture.

Cool building but you can't go upstairs or too far inside the on the first floor either. The architecture is beautiful! Do you need to come here....not really, but if you are in the area going somewhere else and have time, it's a very quick stop. I came on purpose and was let down because I couldn't do much.

It is a very cool and nice architecture building to visit! Its architecture and story makes it a must to see in Downtown LA. However the area where visitors can be is really limited due to the fact that the building works as office premises.
