Although there is not too much to this small museum (one floor of art when we were there), it does offer an interesting view of the Latino culture in particular in LA. There are some outstanding pieces. And the outside of the building is fabulous.

The Craft and Folk Art Museum is a refuge from the main-stream commercialism of LACMA and the Peterson Auto museums, a return to art at it's base. Well curated exhibits highlight interesting themes, materials, and under-appreciated folk, craft and contemporary artists.

We were at the La Brea Tar Pits and decided to visit here as it was across the road. This museum is very small so it doesn't take a long time to do. But it's interesting and always good to support smaller artists. The gift...More

Some lovely and interesting things but I was hoping that it would be a bit bigger and the restaurant is no longer there. However, I enjoyed what they had on exhibit there and would recommend. Takes less than an hour. Some other restaurants are near...More

As an admirer of all things folk art, I looked forward to visiting the museum when in Los Angeles and was disappointed. There are only two gallery spaces and the exhibits were sparse. Great gift shop but that wasn't what I came for.

Often our alternative to behemoth LACMA, CAFAM is a more manageable size and always seems to have 2 incredibly interesting exhibits. Often good with curious kids too. Nifty gift shop too.

The art of the place calls to you everywhere, starting from the exterior and then continuing on inside. Such an informal place. So surprising to find it in artificial Los Angeles. Everything here is real. Everything here is human! This alone makes it worth a...More

The museum doesn't have any parking but there are numerous lots within walking distance or you can park for free down many of the side streets for up to 2 hours.
