Parking is $9-10 dollars, you can circle forever or bite the bullet and grab the closest parking lot - you're here anyways so splurge! Take your time and walk around the market... see what type of food you wish to try... then hunt for a table. You will find plenty of tables around except most are occupied on the ground... More

Did a walk thru after visiting the Bradbury building which is across the street. Many different eateries under one roof, including Eggslut, several Mexican places, and others. Also a couple of fruit and veg vendors. Worth a quick stop if you're hungry.

So many great food options. My favorite is the oddly aggressively named Egg Sl*t. (Trip Advisor won't let me say the real word) Delicious egg sandwiches. This place has a line as soon as the doors open. But so worth the wait. Eat at the counter for a communal experience.

So much choice, all looked inviting. We had the tacos - seafood and chicken. They were so fresh, great balance of flavour and spice. Loved the atmosphere, plenty of tables to sit at. Liked the bar option outside to have a drink after a feed. Tried the beers at the brewery. Loved the craft beer options. Great place to eat.

Have been there while being in LA. We had to eat but to work thus no time. This place offers more asian specialities thus you have to love them firstly. The place look quite dirty so dont look around you too much. It is nice to see ho many young people go there as it is very cheap. The good... More

As the sign says.. cheap eats. You can choose from pasta, burgers, wood fired pizza, Chinese, Japanese, Salvador ian, Mexican and a few more. I lined up for Tomas Mexican food. I had a hard time deciding and with the gorditas gone, ended up with tacos. The carnitas/al pastor was a good choice. 3 tacos for $3.50 and very good.... More

Famed for its instragrammable neon lights signages. Grand Central is filled with stalls and hub for a unique foodcrawl experience. Eggslut may be overrated by hipsters but the fastest selling one.

Grand Central Market is essentially a big indoor (but feels outdoor because of the high roof and large openings) mall of vendors with small shops. Most of these shops are restaurants, but there are a couple of fruit stands. It's sorta like a farmer's market but gathered indoors and with permanent storefronts. The Los Angeles Farmer's Market has a somewhat... More

This place reminds me of the Reading Terminal Market in downtown Philadelphia. Both are often crowded during mealtimes, but not too much to prevent enjoying the place. Both give you a chance to sample fresh food you might not find anywhere else (don't miss the amazing Eggslut food stand) and strike up a conversation with the person next to you... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
