It was a chilly day so we decided to stop for a hot coco. The drinks we got were lukewarm so we requested to have them heated in the microwave for just a minute. She REFUSED, saying that per Regulation, they are only allowed to heat up the drinks to a certain temp. WOW! We explained that our drinks were... More

Great little cafe with a very cozy warm feel. Nice atmosphere, very good food, a bit pricey. Primarily a lodging place offering housekeeping cabins, the restaurant is in the reception building

A friend had a gift certificate so we stayed for a couple nights. Our cabin, Homestead, was clean, comfortable, and equipped with games, puzzles, and music. Other guests reported staying at Sorensen's many times because of their love for it. My friends ate dinner at the cafe and said the food was fantastic. I did think the resort would be... More

Sorensen's natural, rustic environment is always relaxing and beautiful. The food is delicious and the staff is very accommodating. Traffic noise was not a problem (as some reviews indicated);; but the lighting in the Pinon cabin was very limited and the room was very dark. A rail next to the outside stairs would have been helpful also.

We stayed in the Larkspur Room, and the hot-water heater was boiling constantly; so much so that the floor in the bathroom was vibrating. We got the "hey, that's how electric water heaters work" routine from the owner, then two repairmen came out to try and fix it. One did, but it broke again 24 hours later. The owner was... More

This is a family destination for us when we visit the South Lake Tahoe area. On the deck, they have a great Father's Day BBQ (ribs, chicken, slaw, corn-on-the-cob and an amazing cobbler) that we never miss. We've also dined inside at the restaurant (usually evenings) as well. It's rustic and inviting and the food is very, very good. Hope... More

The staff was fantastic from the second we got there. They helped with anything from giving advice to getting you fresh towels if you needed them. The grounds were clean and well kept and the cabins are charming. We had a wonderful time eating smores by the campfire and chatting with all the guests. We will definitley go back again!

Lot's of nature around you. Depending on the time of year not many places to eat away from Sorenson's but the food there is great.
