After a long journey and arriving at our hotel to be told that they had closed the restaurant for the season, we headed out to the golf club. The setting is amazing set in the redwood trees. We had our lunch outside, took a little while for the staff to acknowledge us, but when they did the service was good... More

Unique experience golfing among the giant redwood trees. Course in great condition and facilities very good. Best to book in the mornings before it is too crowded (in season). Can have excellent drinks on the veranda of the restaurant and bar near the pro shop shop after playing a round.

For the views of the lovely redwoods, we find that Northwood Golf Club is so relaxing. One feels "tiny" amongst these gorgeous redwoods. It is also along the Russian River. One can opt to play 9 or 18 holes and the rates are reasonable. On site restaurant. Staff is good here.

We stayed close to the course for a week in July and played several times. Course condition was fantastic .... never had a bad lie or a bumpy putt. All the reviews rightly mention the amazing redwoods that line every fairway. In addition to the stunning arboreal views, the trees are home to all kinds of wildlife, and the woodland... More

This course is so beautiful, only 9 holes but very challenging, hilly and lots of big redwood trees. So keep in the fairways.

Hi gang, After a 9 yr absence from Northwood golf course I decided its time for a re-visit. Paid $27 Sr. rate to walk. Greens were bumpy and sandy, not fun yet but give 'em another month. Fairways had been watered heavily and top-dressed making for some soft lies. Greens were soft with virtually no roll. Scenery and serenity abound... More

I spent some time in st helena and was on my way to the coast so since this was on my way and it was a allister Mchenzie design I decided to stop and play, this was a mistake, it was only $34 dollars for 9 and about 45 for 18 but after 9 holes you would need to pay... More
