Went as a family with two parents, three kids (ages 10, 8, and 4), and two 73-year-old grandparents. It was such a great experience. Definitely more than I expected. Three dollar entry is very reasonable, and we were surprised to learn that our fourth grade child (download their CA Adventure Pass) got us all in for free! Docents were lovely, search and find activity booklet for the kids was helpful for them to connect with the information in the museum. We also did the virtual reality, headset activity and learned about elephant seals inSan Simeon. A great two hour stop. Places to picnic right outside and easy parking and bathrooms.

This was a small gem of a find. It didn’t take long to navigate thru but had a lot of interesting information about the area and Morro Rock. The teenager enjoyed this one.

Wonderful museum for children - lots of great hands-on things for them to look at and explore to learn about and appreciating the history of the area, and the importance of taking care of the environment. Beautiful views from the museum. The dock is nearby with restaurants.

The price is very good ($3). A big focus on wildlife with quite a few interactive displays. Lots of history of the area, good focus on environmental influence and general nature.
Some areas being redone and also and few buttons not working.
No kids with us but lots of kid related activities available.

Fantastic little museum right on Morro bay. It tells the story of everything you've wondered about standing on the Morro Bay shoreline. This is a must see for first time visitors. And if you've been here a dozen times and you've never visited this museum, you've missed out. The museum has its own small parking lot.

this may be the nicest most animated museum of its type we have ever seen. it has been updated and has animation and information for kiddos and adults and may visual aids and working models you can interact with. the staff is super helpful and it only costs $3 for adults, kids free.
A special room is set up right now for an emphais on WWII activities in the morro bay area. Well done and very intersting. this is a large museum with great views of the bay. allow around 2 hours for a visit.

oh my goodness. This is a place that's not advertised enough for tourists. The hiking trail leading up to the museum is too beautiful. I have been to Morro Bay a couple of time, but only walked around the Morro Rock. Never imagined there is view like this on the other side of Morro Bay. MUST SEE FOR VISITORS! Great photo- op !!

The Morro Bay museum of Natural History is a must see destination location. The museum is full of hands on, educational displays that teach adults and children. Want to know your carbon footprint? There's an activity for that! This museum is a cross between modern and historical. Stunning mounted local fauna. Education on tide pools, wave action, history and more. Fantastic gift shop has local crafted jewelry and stuffed animals, postcards, books, something for everyone. Trails on the premises to climb for an amazing view of the estuary.

This museum is not large and has an admission fee to match. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The exhibits were pretty much all oriented towards the local area's coastal life.

We spent a month in Morro Bay, visiting from Michigan, and went on several hikes sponsored by the Museum of Natural History. Birding, plant id, the oak forest, tidal pools and the salt marsh...all of the docents were so knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed every hike and learned something new each time. THANK YOU to the docents we met and had so much fun with. You made our visit so enjoyable!!!
