This review is not for the main part of Fitzgerald, which is where the tide pools and the cliff side walks are situated. This is for the Lauer Trail, which is on the bluffs between Moss Beach Distillery and Pillar Point. High chaparral with cliffs...More

The beach area is quiet. A staircase allows easy access. The beach is sort of a cove. Beautiful vistas.

Great beach and fun tide pools. Lots of seals on the outer edges of the cove because it is protected. Also a short hike up a hill and there are amazing bluff views

This is a great spot to bring kids to learn about marine life. Binoculars are a must for the sea lions since visitors are kept 300' away. Also, for tidal pool exploration, you must go at the lowest low tides, so please check the tide...More

Stopped here to check out the tide pools. It's a nice area but it's heavily policed by the reserve security guard. You can't touch any animals in the tide pools, pick up rocks, etc. It was cool seeing the seals resting on the beach.

It is best to check their website for the current information on the tides. The best time to go is when the tide is low.

We went when the tide was about 2 ft and were still able to see things in the tide pools. I think it's worth your time to stop by.
