Many don't know this little park has the headwaters of the Sacramento River. The river literally seeps and streams out of the mountain . It's an amazing sight. There is a small playground for kids as well.

This place is an absolute must! Bring your glass jugs and containers and collect the best water you will ever taste from the headwaters within this park.

Went to see the start of the Sacramento River and was suprised at the park. There was an information board at the mouth of the river. We walked around the park for a while but it was very wet as it had been raining for some time. Would have liked to have stayed longer. Clean restrooms open.

I went here last June 2015, on a suggestion of a friend and this is the 1st place I've gone to get drinking water, where I felt IMMEDIATELY "fed" by drinking water! From that moment, I ONLY went there to refill my water bottles; I noticed that people come all over, including coming in from the Bay Area, with their... More

I love this park. There is a big spring that dumps into a big pond, with a trail beside it. Also a very large grassy area. It is surrounded by trees with an easy trail through them.

We were looking for a place to let our kiddos run around a little bit before a couple hour drive down to Lassen NP and we ended up staying for quite along time. The only other city parks this nice, in towns this small are Estes Park, CO and Buena Vista, CO. I would highly recommend spending some time here... More

Took a drive outside of town to see where Sacramento river starts seeing the springs water bubble up out of the ground. Drove the park a bit looking at the tall trees and the out buildings, park needs some tlc in my opinion. 1/2 tops is all you need here.

This was on our list of places to see (from the Tourist Bureau). Easy to find, easy to park. We wanted to see the headwaters and that is easy to see. The park had a lot of people there. They were filling jugs in the headwaters despite a sign warning them not to. A lot of people were bathing although... More

Beautiful park. Great playground for children. A little too much pot smoking for our tastes...no rules about that, but lots of rules about where you can step!
