65 Regional Parks in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties and miles and miles of hiking trails. Plenty of Wildflowers fill some parks in Spring, lots of parks provide plenty of activities in the Summer and all year, i have a few favorites and so does my dog. Plenty of dog friendly hiking trails as long as they are under voice... More

We've enjoyed so many of the EBR Parks over the years it's impossible to pick a favorite. We are lucky to have all the urban open space the EBRP looks after and we hope visitors will enjoy one or more of these parks.

We came to some Oakland A's games and decided to do a hike in the hills before a night game. We parked near a trailhead and found a map station with maps of the park and trails. We picked a trail and headed out. It was beautiful walking through stands of oak, by creek beds and even got to see... More

Great hiking - better than Marin or the peninsula. Little train really cool for kids. Nice Merry Go Round. Teenagers like to be seen at Lake Anza

The East Bay Regional Park district is the pride of the East Bay. It spans through Alameda and Contra Costa counties and includes over 65 parks on more than 100,000 acres. There are over 1,000 miles of trails in all types of terrain, so check online for 1 or 2 that suit you. Be aware that many of the parks... More

I’ve visited a number of the parks and trails in the East Bay Regional Park District over the years, most recently enjoying May afternoon walks on the Contra Costa Canal Trail and the new George Miller Trail. Briones Regional Park remains my favorite component of the district system, and I especially like to be there when the raptor migration is... More

My husband and our two dogs stayed at the Anthony Chabot campground, and had a very good experience. The sites had space and some had a lot of privacy. The bathrooms were clean and had a great shower. Lovely view and only a few miles from San Fransisco.

There is no way to describe just how wonderful the Park District is. It is a greenbelt that surround the east bay cities, and it is wilderness. Wonderful trails, stunning views.

The East Bay Regional Park system is beautiful and well maintained system of trails throughout hills of Alameda County to Contra Costa county. I have been walking the trails in Sibley Park mainly for over 15 years. Unfortunately over the past five years or so, the park has become the place for hired dog-walkers to take their dogs. It's a... I ran the trails for years with three different dogs and the dogs loved the trails as much as I did. People are friendly and helpful to each other. It's total freedom walking or running through Redwood Park. Springtime paints the hillsides with Chinese Forget-me-nots, poppies, lupine, buttercups and tons more. Visit their website for a wildflower identification guide.
