We spent an hour with a delightful guide who had stories for each building and even details on the people who previously worked there. It is interesting to compare the buildings to the present . circumstances in Oceanside. The model railroad is fantastic and really gives you an historic view of the area -north & south of Oceanside. This is... More

I actually wandered into this place by accident. When you get here, you feel like you are back in Mayberry! Like this town never progressed to modern times. That IS NOT a bad thing, it is like a time capsule and you are the keeper of time. It is used for many different things and after seeing this place in... More

While it is not what Preservationist do anymore Heritage Park is a classic "Heritage" Park to see some of Oceanside and San Luis Rey's older buildings. There are numerous community events here as well as Weddings. Great location for both...

If you are looking for a free, relaxing place to spend an hour or two, this is it. Nestled behind the Mission San Luis Rey, this small park is filled with buildings from Oceanside's past. Included are the old jail, a school house, the Blade Tribune newspaper building, stable and more. Beautiful trees cover the grassy areas and a gazebo... More

Went to check out this Museum during the week. Signs with the hours posted said it was open when we were there but it wasn't. We couldn't even walk through the old cemetery because there was a lock on the fence. Very disappointed.

We visited Heritage Park on a Sunday afternoon when most of the buildings were closed. There is a model railroad museum there with a sign announcing you could run the trains yourself. There is a small raised pavilion that could be used as a stage and a playground for the kids. There is also an old school that you can... More

We stopped by this little Heritage Park and the Railroad Museum. Most of the building weren't open even though it was an scheduled open day. I was disappointed. We visited he railroad buildings and that was great. The men building are so nice. I really wasn't interested at 1st. But I went in and they are actually building it right... More

The children had a great time playing hide and seek during our family picnic in June 2015. We had lunch delivered, family entertainment was by our Blue Grass family band, with fun for all.

A view into the past. Not to be missed. The entire family will enjoy this outing, especially history buffs and the teen aged children in your group

If you liked Back to the Future you'll love taking in the buildings. If your a couple great photo opportunity. Spent a little time sitting down and taking in the atmosphere of times gone.
