Past flooding and no repair work being done. Stay away. CLOSED. This place is a hazard and there are no park rangers there unless checking for trespassers. This use to be a great place for primitive beach camping but not anymore. I wish the state would put it back in working order. Dangerous to be there now so stay away

This was a great place to camp out, bbq, hike on the beach! Due to water issues there is some flooding and the CA government has claimed poverty and closed this great place

I can only say terrible because it's a terrible thing that this once great park is closed to the public. I hope the state fixes the problems and it can be opened at sometime in the future.

Not sure why--I camped here when in high school, my first camping trip ever!--but the park is closed and looks it in a derelict sort of way, and there's no indication of why or when/if it will re-open. Too bad, it's a beautiful spot full of wild grasses and dunes and I was sad not to be able to re-visit.

This used to be the perfect spot to camp. From the looks of things, and my reading of the news, this area has been closed to the public due to storm damage a few years ago.

Drive in with your camper and enjoy. Beautiful sunsets and beach. Took my motorhome and watched the sunset through my dining room window. This is paradise of sorts. Bring steaks and baked potatoes, of go to a pizza place and bring it, or have it delivered.

The place now closed to the public due to flooding caused by the Ventura Water Department dumping 6.7 million gallons of treated water into the estuary daily.

McGrath State park has been closed for years due to high waves that came in and now looks like save some type of animal in there so there is no progress on the campground.

Safe family beach. Lots' of beginner waves if you want to try surfing. The bay view is pretty with the Santa Monica Mountains setting the backdrop.
