Had great time, exhibits were outstanding. Animals & plants were very nive & varied a lot. Educational, fun, & creative. Plan on at least 4-5 hrs. You could easily spend more time easily. Sunscreen a must have!

The Living Desert Zoo was certainly more than we were expecting. Although it is not large by other zoo comparables (Seattle and San Diego) it has a very visible charm and sense of place. The zoo prides itself on taking great care of it's animals...More

One of the better zoos with the animals (understandably excepting reptiles and birds) given plenty of room to roam freely. The distant mountains and palm-studded grounds provide especially beautiful backgrounds for the giraffes, and it's always great fun watching the meerkats. Small gardens tucked along...More

Family visited from Orange County. Went to Living Desert to see Christmas Decorations. We had multiple pictures with Great Santa and children were excited to feed the Reindeers.

The Living Desert provided an entertaining and interesting place to visit for our family - ages from 1 to over 50. Kept us amused all afternoon. A good variety of animals, cheetahs and giraffes were highlights for us, and a small petting zoo.

We read that people thought two hours would be enough for this place, but for us four hours wasn't enough. The variety of animals was amazing -- one part had North American animals, the other part African. You can get up close to the giraffes...More

Volunteers are mostly retirees who just love what they do and are willing to help with anything. The desert brings a natural feeling to this zoo. Great place for kids and adults. We went to feed the giraffes and couldn't believe they took their carrots...More

One of the best Zoos I have been to! I couldn't believe I didn't discover this zoo until recently. Huge grounds and you can get up close to the animals! The kids loved it. I highly recommend it!
