Worth it, mild grade hike, freezing cold waterfall at the end, wear swim gear
May 2021 • Friends
It's a 1.8 mile hike varying grade but not difficult
I did it in 101* weather at 1pm like a genius
I hiked in flip flops no problem
Take 1 liter of water or buy one from them for $2
They have walking sticks to borrow
Wear swim clothes, water feels amazing when it's that hot outside
Mask not required June 2021
Group discounts to $10 each if 5 or more, it maybe 6 or more

Worth the entry fee
May 2021 • Solo
Having done a few hikes in the area, this pay-for trail is one of the best. If you go in the morning (8-ish), it’s still cool and you get partial shade from the canyon walls. Fairly easy & the dip in the waterfall at the end is refreshing, with hummingbirds & greenery around

Pair with Indian canyons hikes
May 2021 • Couples
This hike is great and worth the entrance fee, however if you are planning to do the Indian canyons hikes they give you a coupon for the tahquitz hike after you pay. So maybe do the Indian canyons hike first to save some cash

Nice little hike
Apr 2021 • Couples
We enjoyed this short (around an hour and a half) and easy hike in the desert. There’s a beautiful babbling brook, waterfall and view of the valley. It’s $12.50 a person (it’s on a Reservation) and we had to wait in a line for entry. There are restrooms at the entrance and they require that you have water. We happened to be there when it was only 73 degrees outside, but when hot, be warned there isn’t much shade until you get to the waterfall. And it’s pretty crowded at that spot; a bit of a bottle neck in fact. We saw old and young on the trail, along with lizards and a variety of birds. It really was lovely. Enjoy

Waterfall In The Desert
Apr 2021
Who knew that there was a waterfall in the desert? Located deep in the Tahquitz Canyon. The trail was easy but had many spots that were rocky & steps as high as 24". The waterfall itself was stunning, somewhat crowded, but we found a big rock in the middle of the stream to hangout and take in the view. This is a loop trail system but some people didn't follow the directions so in many places we had o huge the canyon walls to make way for those leaving. Would allocate about 2-3 hours overall and the reserve closes the trail from May-September since the mountain snow pack will be all gone, meaning no waterfall.

Should not have to pay for a hike.
Apr 2021
This was a beautiful little two mile hike and definitely worth going on. There are quite a bit of steps heading up to the waterfall so it could be exhausting for some. It is a loop so you get to see a lot of different scenery which is nice. There was a stream for most of the way up and a nice waterfall at the top. It is a very small area and lots of people taking pictures so it does get a little crowded at the top with people stopping and then you waiting a bit.
The downside is that you have to pay $12.50 per person which I find to be ridiculous. I have never had to pay to go on a single hike before. I would have been ok with $5, so I feel it was too expensive but it was a nice little hike. Also, if you get there really early in the morning, there is a line to get in because there is only one person working the register. They really need to get a second person in there to help. Would have given 5 stars but the fact that I had to pay I gave it four.

Expensive but pretty
Apr 2021
A pretty hike, and best to do in the morning. We thought it'd be better to go the reverse direction they recommended because you'd be in the shade while hiking up the hill. Oh well!

$50 for 4 people to do a small hike is really expensive. $5pp is more appropriate.

We enjoyed our brief time here.

Easy family hike
Mar 2021
This was a nice easy hike up to a beautiful waterfall. The map they give you points out historical areas of the canyon. It would have been nice if you could spend time in the visitor center but with COVID, what are you going to do. Parking can be a bit tight. We got lucky. Our boys wanted to get in the water but it was FREEZING cold. I think $12.50 per person for a two mile hike and map is a bit steep. Especially with the visitor center closed.

Easy scenic hike
Mar 2021
Great easy hike, about 2 miles roundtrip. Great for families. The waterfall is great, you can get in if you are brave enough to get in cold water. The views of Palm Springs are fantastic. Cost is $12.50 per person. Bring water, you will need it

Great easy hike with water features including a waterfall!
Mar 2021 • Couples
The downside to this hike is they charge you $12 .50 to get in And the hike isn’t really that long, it is very scenic with very identifiable paths and waterfall feature at the end. Worthwhile.
