A great plan is to wander University Avenue, grab a drink and/or meal and then catch a film at Stanford Theater (or visa versa). Even if you're not familiar with the movies being shown, it's worth a visit. The films are usually pretty great (even...More

This genuine older theater evokes bygone days of visits to the movies. Comfortable seating and great movies make this a must-visit place! Organ music prior to the movies too!

Just saw Breakfast at Tiffany's this weekend. Just wish the rotation of movies was longer than a week as I don't look at calendar and schedule to be able to make some movies in such a small window for the year.

The large theater shows very old movies at a very cheap price. We only paid $5 to get in and $1 for popcorn, for a double-feature. It is not to be missed. The giant screen is another plus. And you can save your money for...More

MY favorite part is the organ that rises and lowers before the show and between double features. Some of the films are dated/campy, which is why I put 4 not 5 stars, but people know this going into it. Films were just made differently then...More

This is a beautifully restored retro movie house. Anyone who went to those Saturday matinees will be taken back to another era. The seats are old school meaning little legroom but it adds to to experience. At intermission, an organist plays. Sometimes if a silent,...More

Love the Stanford Theatre. All the great old films in comfortable chairs in a beautiful environment. Prices are great and the popcorn is the best anywhere. I've been known to just stop by for a bag of popcorn.
