Rangers were very helpful. Make sure to stop by the visitors center. WE enjoyed walking on the beach and looking for birds.

Point Reyes seashore national Park is the best place I've ever hiked in my life! I advise all people that have ever lived to do this. The view to drake's estero from the ridge while we picnic'd was a once in a life time experience.

We drove up to Point Reyes Station on our last day in the Napa area. It was nearly 100 that day so the temps were perfect on the cliffs & overlooking the beach lines, seals, lighthouse & sailboats below. Be sure to bring water, stay...More

Beautiful Views, South beach is awesome. Light house is good. Too much traffic in weekends. They block traffic to light house when it is too busy.

It's hard to believe that an area this vast and wild can be such a short drive from San Francisco, but it is, and well worth the sidetrip from Rt. 1. This little patch of land is on the Pacific tectonic plate, which shifts a...More

Stunning beaches beautiful trails, great birding and wildlife spotting opportunities. Accessible wilderness. Quite a few places to stay plus camping and a hostel. Even driving there is a feast for the eyes.

My first experience of Pt. Reyes was 30 years ago. I brought my family of five (from Cleveland, Ohio) back to see experience it, again. They all loved it, including our 19 to 25 year olds. The hiking , the lighthouse, the wildlife, the restaurants...More

I didn't encounter any on my hikes in May; the only plants I saw that were close enough to brush against were tall grasses and wildflowers.

Maybe not. Pier 39 you can see them up close and smell them as well. Best place to see killer whales and grey whales as well as dolphins is in the Monterey Bay. They have tours there everyday of the year. If you... More

Most of the trails in Pt Reyes would be challenging perhaps for your mother. The trails to the ocean sights are more than .5 mile. Here are the exceptions: Limantour Beach- good drive up and walk way across lagoon for... More
