I played the Pete Dye course twice before finally playing the Gary Player and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a very good course, friendly off the tee but demanding around the greens with bunkering, hills and hazards. Greens were very good and fast. The practice facilities are better than the Pete dye course with a practice bunker, chipping area, putting... More

In early 2016, I suspect that the courses are hurting for business because the rates seem reasonable. This course is challenging and perhaps some of the bunkers were not really in play and you wonder why they spent the money to put them there. They allowed a fivesome which slowed play down, but we played the front nine twice and... More

Dear PMahdis, Thank you for the review of our facility! We are happy that you enjoyed your time. As far as the fivesome, I will personally look into the incident. We don't usually allow this. On the brighter side, we look forward to seeing you again in the near future! Have a great day! More

The Gary Player course is a bit further down the road than the Dye course and in a bit better condition. Maybe due to the fact that the Player course is closer to the hotel and gets more golfers. An early tee time will enable you to get done in about 4 hrs.

Played this course Sunday and Tuesday in great conditions. Greens on Sunday were very slow and bumpy but by Tuesday they had been rolled and that was a big improvement. The course itself was not as lush as one would expect after overseeding . Warmer weather may have impacted rye growth.

Dear dpd0843, I won't be repetitive as I just responded to your review on our Pete Dye Course. Both courses are improving daily and we should be in the swing of things very soon! Thank you for playing and sharing your day with us! Have a great day! More

The landscaping is lush and the course is surrounded by nice looking homes. But the golf just isn't that interesting, this a resort course and is more expensive than it should be. The Westins Dye Course is almost worth the money, the Player not so much.

Played the course with a couple colleagues and had a great time. The course is not overly difficult but it is fair. Fairways are fairly flat allowing for consistently flat lies. Greens are moderately difficult. Course was in excellent condition and well maintained.

This course has everything you could want: amazing views of the mountains, wonderful green fairways, paved cart paths and a great practice facility. As an added bonus for a city dweller, there was a tremendous amount of wildlife including beautiful orange birds, herons, bunnies, ducks, geese and catfish (they like apples and cheese) :). Husband and I golf together and... More

We played a couple or three weeks after overseeding so we had to take that into account but the greens were a bit slow. Ok layout but not many memorable holes.

Dear Craig J. Thank you for taking the time to review our facility. We do appreciate these comments. Overseeding can definitely slow the greens down while we wait for the winter grass to mature, but it will be worth it as the season progresses. We hope you come back to visit us during this time. Have a great day! More

The Gary Player golf course has something for everyone: views, water, bunkers and wide fairways. Always fun but can get crowded.
