Grgich Hills Estate is an iconic Napa Valley winery, consistently producing world-class wines. Vintner Hall of Fame inductee Miljenko "Mike" Grgich first earned world-wide recognition when the Chardonnay he crafted won the 1976 Paris Tasting, beating the best of France. Mike then partnered with Austin Hills to open their family-owned-and-operated winery in 1977. Committed to natural winegrowing and sustainability, we farm our five estate vineyards without artificial fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides, rely on wild yeast fermentation and use our passion and art to handcraft food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines.

We were on a birthday wine tour trip and the birthday girl wanted to wine stomp. After some google research, we found Grgich Hills. The wine stomping is outside where two people stomp together in a small barrel for a few minutes until they step out, with assistance, onto a white memorobilia Grgich tshirt to leave their wine footprints on... Grgich Hills tasting room pours small samples of multiple wines with reasonable pricing. The wines are terrific, and the overall value is reasonable with the discount offered with the purchase of a case and the tasting fee waiver.

The staff were very friendly and wonderful to talk to. No one in my party was impressed with the wine, but maybe it's just not our style. Tasting room is different than most since you are in a barrel storage room. They converted just the front space to have tastings. Bring a coat/sweater as it is cold in there! It... More

Dear afriemel, Thank you for your visit and for taking time to review us on TripAdvisor. We are sorry and surprised that you were not impressed with our wines. Our wines have been highly reviewed in wine publications around the world: just today Wine Enthusiast sent word that our 2015 Napa Valley Essence was awarded 92 points. Can you give... More

It was a rainy and stormy day. Prefect to keep the crowds away. We visited the Grgich winery without a reservation and only had to wait 5 minutes to start the wine tasting. The three of us (family) asked for two tasting. We selected a list of wines to taste. The wine host was helpful and interesting to talk wine... More

I had to change my reservation time and the staff were very accommodating. We had young children and they provided some distractions for them. The wines were paired perfectly with the cheeses and we had an awesome experience. We love to bring our guests here. Don't miss this!!

My wife and I had planned on stopping by the Grgich Estate beforehand. We were primarily interested in the Chardonnay as this is what won the 1976 Paris blind test (Grgich was the winemaker). We ordered the second wine sampling pack without doing too much analysis. We enjoyed the sampling and the staff was great. You can waive the sampling... More

We arrived before opening hours and watched the grapes that were picked the night before being unloaded and sorted...what fun. There were half barrels set out for grape stomping later in the morning. We had visited a Grgich Winery in Croatia so wanted to see this one as well...very friendly staff.

We only came here as they were the only place still doing any grape stomping. Knew it would be a novelty, but surprisingly low value. Paid $40 each and the bucket we stomped in was mostly already crushed grapes. No new grapes were put in but that may have been because they were running low. Essentially we got our feet... More

Thank you for your visit. We were very surprised that you didn’t enjoy your stomping experience and that you paid forty dollars. We’ve had a great, positive response on our stomp experience, which is $30 and includes the shirt you place your feet on to have a memento plus a GoVino glass and a tasting of one of our Napa... So fun to stomp Grapes!! T-shot with grape stained footprints included with stomp. Wine with stomp was better Thani thought it would be. We were able to wander the vineyards after stomping while we sipped and tasted different grapes. Fun!

Our seven year-old daughter was with us for a visit to Grgich Hills Estate and our entire family enjoyed the experience here. We all sampled the grapes and appreciated the warm and friendly staff. We then all enjoyed the opportunity to stomp on grapes. It was a really fun experience along with the wonderful education we got about the rich... More
