Frog’s Leap was founded by John Williams in 1981. Started on a shoestring budget even the name itself was ‘borrowed’ by combining Stag’s Leap, where John started his Napa Valley winemaking career, and the Frog Farm, where the early vintages were made. The winery was relocated in 1994 when John and his family moved Frog’s Leap to the historic Red Barn in the heart of the Rutherford appellation. This grand and welcoming building was built in 1884 as the Adamson Winery and sits amongst some of our 200 acres of estate grown vineyards. Over the past 30 years Frog’s Leap has earned an enviable reputation with our unique combination of a whimsical label, sincere dedication to sustainable principles and our small, handcrafted production of wines. Over the years to come we look forward growing and learning more about ourselves, our wines and how we can share it all with honesty and genuine hospitality.

The wine is good and the grounds are nice, It was very hot when we visited which killed some of the tasting experience. Would recommend you visit in Spring or Fall so you can enjoy a tasting on the back porch.

Last week our tour guide recommend a tasting at Frogs leap and we were so happy he did. The setting is beautiful and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Even better it was affordable! I highly recommend.

Booked by Jensen of Green Hills Wine Tours. Friendly reception staff and we were well looked after by Seth. On the back porch, with heaters and rugs. Treated with a very old wine to c/w the current releases. This is well worth a visit.

We did not have a reservation and decided to drop in. We were greeted by a friendly staff and were offered three different samples before deciding which to buy. The outdoor area is very nice.

This winery has been around for a long time, but you have to remember you can only get the tastings if you have a reservation. A tasting with four different wines is about $20.00,the wines are pretty good but not stellar but again they are...More

Beautiful gardens, family friendly, and great wines. The grounds of this vineyard is just gorgeous and there are lots of room to roam around. The service was great as well and the wines were great. Their zinfandel and 2014 Cabernet savigon was just so great....More

Wonderful wine and lovely grounds to walk around. Be sure to walk out back towards the sounds of the chickens for another serving area with tables.

This is an Instagram worthy place, not for the wine. It's also a reservation only place, they're pretty rude if you walk in without.

Wrap around covered balconies allow you to sit outside, but still sort of inside and enjoy the wine while you gaze at the scenery! Seth was our tasting guide, and he was amazingly knowledgeable about the wines and the winery, but also presented it in...More

This was our last vineyard visit and after 2 packed days I was worried we’d seen the best that Napa Valley had to offer. However, we were pleasantly surprised by Frog’s Leap which not only had some excellent wines (particularly a Chardonnay) but also an...More

We had an adult with our group who was not drinking. I don't think they charged her at all to follow the tour with the rest of us, so they would probably let your kids come. Also, you will be taken through areas where there... More
