Stopped on the way back from San Francisco to Reno. Nice and informative little site but only spent 90 minutes. They have a lot of info I didn't know about the go mid game of Sacramento. It also touched on the Donner Party.

Much more than we expected. Seeing the children dressed up and reacting with the instructors was rejuvinating. Some parts of the narration were not quite accurate. The Carronades were not made in England but in a village in Scotland called Carron.

Interesting history to get familiar with. Audio explanations were very informative around the different rooms in the fort. Video was just the right length.

This is an excellent reenactment of life in mid-19th century North America. There is plenty to see, and if you are a child in a school party, plenty to do and experience. The history of the fort and its founder is told in narrative boards,...More

...and every school district within driving range makes it here with kids throughout the school year, so keep that in mind, Monday thru Friday. For history buffs, it is worth the time. It definitely feels out of place now, with all of downtown Sacramento rising...More

Walking through Sutter's Fort's displayed was so very interesting. For anyone wanting to know about CA history, tour Sutter's Fort. Seeing Patty Reed's doll (from the Donner Party) was a highlight for me. It was a relaxing Sunday afternoon to enjoy a walk through history.
