A perfect setting for those who served to keep us all free. A peaceful, respectful place to reflect on what this nation is built on and the sacrifices made by so many. The headstones are aligned and standing tall, a great tribute and a salute to all servicemen and women.

Beautiful well-groomed cemetery. They do a great Memorial Day ceremony with military band to honor veterans, passed and living. I saw old soldiers from all branches of the military. Very, very respectful and patriotic. I spoke with a lot of veterans and military families. I love it and go every year.

My father was a soldier during World War II and when he passed away, we laid him to rest at Golden Gate National Cemetery.

This National Cemetary has undergone a complete renovation. It is as moving to visit as the Arlington National Cemetary. What a great tribute to those who gave their all. No way you can't be humbled and inspired as you drive or walk through this hallow3d ground. Well worth the visit.

On a recent visit to the San Francisco Bay area, my wife and I took the time to visit the Golden Gate National Cemetery located in San Bruno (about 12 miles south of San Francisco). Over the years, our travels have afforded us the opportunity to visit the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (informally known as Punchbowl Cemetery) on... More

Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz (5 stars) is buried in this out of the way national cemetery, instead of Arlington, because he wanted to be with those who fought and died for him. In addition, buried next to Nimitz in a row are Admiral Raymond Spruance (4 stars), Vice Admiral Charles Lockwood (3 stars) and Admiral Richmond Kelly Turner (4 stars)... More

The weather was perfect the day I went. It is a must see if you have never been there! The iconic Bridge is everything and more. They have a visiting center and many areas to take photos. The bridge is beautiful

While no longer accepting standard burials, the GGNC is a quiet place to visit. There are graves of Veterans from WW1 through Vietnam. I say take the kids there. GGNC has plenty of room and grass.
