You really can spend all day here; there are so many things to read and admire. A lot of care and attention has been put into the displays. We especially loved the example of the tomb that you could walk through. The only exhibit which really fell flat for us was the one on alchemy. It seemed rushed and not really based on history, somehow. Oh well, we were so charmed with the rest of the museum that we quickly moved on. The outdoor area was nice to walk around in as well and was nice to eat lunch in. Really great value for the admission, support your local museums!

Where was the bust of Nefertiti! It had always been on display but was not there whe. We went in December 2023. No one had an answer to what happened to it.

Very interesting museum with lots of information. Unfortunately the audio tours were sometimes a bit unclear where to find the right number. And the garden was a big disappointment, it wasn’t taken good care of and a lot of things to see were closed.

Our daughter brought us here. What a little gem! We started with a stroll through the peace garden outdoors. We really enjoyed the interpretive signage, statues & landscaping. We decided to visit the museum, too, afterwards. Very interesting collection of Egyptian artifacts. We learned later that this museum houses the largest collection of such items in North America! Impressive!

I came here on a Friday afternoon. The museum was worthwhile, although there were a lot of school kids crowding some of the exhibits. It costs $10 per adult for admission. There is a free parking lot, as well as street parking. I spent 2 hours looking at the exhibits. The highlight was an underground replica of the tomb of Khnumhotep II – a nomarch of the Twelfth Dynasty.
I got hungry after 2 hours of looking at the exhibits. Since the museum has in-and-out privileges, I went across the street and picked up lunch from the Park Station Hashery (good food, gets crowded). I brought the lunch back to one of the many gardens of the museum and enjoyed a picnic lunch underneath a magnolia tree with views of an obelisk.
Don't forget to check out the meditation labyrinth and fish pond as well. If you are into Egyptian history, then check this museum out.

Actually spent 2 days on the grounds here. Peaceful with great gardens and informative sculptures. Museum very impressive in such a small space. Exhibits very informative, educational & the separate halls well displayed. A must to download the free app to listen to narratives on specific displays.
Returned Saturday to 2 very interesting talks by curator JAMES BORDING. He did a TOMB TOUR lecture in the recreated tomb at Museum. It included many fascinating details so you could understand the purpose of all the colorful pictures on the walls. Later attended a workshop [meant for kids but invited all] on making PAPYRUS REED BOATS. James had an excellent presentation of information on papyrus & also showed the kids how to make a boat. So fun to see the parents working with their kids to make a boat & test it in the fountain waters in the garden.
Ended my time there in the ROSICRUCIAN RESEARCH LIBRARY. They have on display rare books back to the mid 1500's. Impressive!
Outdoors can walk the labyrinth, sit in the Peace Garden or learn to play senit on a life size game board,
FYI-good bathrooms, no food or drink or gift shop inside.

Very interesting collection and interpretation of Egyptian history, from mummification examples and practices to written and household artifacts. We liked how the exhibits walked through the different pharoah eras/dynasties, and how they related to other regional areas of current Middle East. The exterior of building and gardens are also unique. Parking lot nearby or park on street around corner from main entrance. My only suggestion is to have some souvenirs available, book about the exhibits or other items.

Remembered coming to this place as a child on a school field trip back in elementary school many many years back. I found out where and what is was from deep almost lost memories of my past, and took my children to see it once more as a grown up. It did not disappoint; amazed them as well. This place is a wonderful jewel of Egypt, outside of Egypt itself.

A friend told me to check out this place as it was an Interesting place. There are gardens and sculptures around this place.
Even though the place might be closed, you can walk around the gardens and look at the different statues.
Overall, this is an interesting place to visit specially during rainy days.

Hello, Bob!
Can you tell me how long it would take to see the museum in its entirety? I'm flying down from Seattle and want to know whether I need to book an overnight stay or if I can do it in a day.
Thank you,
Marian Smith

This wonderful museum is not the British Museum - it is quite do-able in 2-3 hours depending upon your level of interest. It is quite impressive and ahd gardend and a labyrinth, too.

Will a curious and bright 5 year old be frightened? This particular child is quite well behaved and has visited many museums, but I'm concerned that the subject matter might be a bit too much.

Nothing would frighten a 5-year-old. All the mummified animals and people are in one room, so you can avoid that room if you think the child might be freaked out.
