Stopped in San Luis Obispo on our Route 1 tour to see the mission. While I wouldn't say it's spectacular I would recommend going. Lot of history in this mission from the 1700's. I'd love to ride a horse with the silver saddle on display...More

This was a return to California, but a first time visit to this mission. After attending mass, church talks and the great docent tour, I have been rejuvenated with a desire to continue and expand my familiarity with the Fracked Junipero Serra history of not...More

Beautiful location. Took self guided tour that was very interesting. There is a charge for the tour but reasonable. Very educational.

In addition to being an active parish, the mission has a nice little museum to help explain the San Luis Obispo area before and during the existence of the mission. I was surprised to find rosaries with more than 10 decades.

I love missions. This mission in particular is well preserved. It is small enough to see in a few hours, yet it still is a full Mission. There are many spots to stop and read the history of the Mission and the people who built...More

A beautifully maintained site. Still an active parish that is the only mission that is still the center of the downtown. The bells are rung everyday by hand. A wonderful place to enjoy a meal by the creek. Always something happening in the plaza.

What a beautiful historic setting adjacent to the San Luis Creek among the City Center. Humble, spiritual, and quaint interiors with an aromatic central garden. If you are doing issuing your with your kids, it's high on our list.

This is one of the smaller Missions of California. But is very well kept up and extremely nice to boot. I found it a place of reflection and a source of inner peace. It is worthy of your time to take a peek inside it....More

This mission was small compared to Santa Barbara Mission. I liked the gardens surrounding the Mission the best.
