We really enjoy this non-commercialized Mission. Quiet grounds good for strolling. The town is incredibly small with few other sites.

I have visited most all of the California missions, including into Baja California (that was the same area of Mexico as Alto California in the late 1700's). Mission San Miguel Arcangel is exceptional for the original configuration, because it has always been in use, and...More

Beautiful active mission. So authentic. Love the old details - the entrance, chapel, landscape, and bell tower. This mission is a MUST SEE! Easy to get to off North 101.

This is a lovely mission and well worth the minimal admission fee. It is stunning to see the inside of the mission, quite beautiful in its early depiction of the Catholic saints and fascinating to learn how the mission and its artifacts came to be...More

This is one of the most beautiful mission I've been in. Went for mass on a Saturday night, not many people, but a good showing for a small town.

Not to miss if you are on 101 in this area. Mission San Miguel is just right off the highway. The painted decorations in the church are beautiful. Be sure to pick up the pamphlet at the back of the church that talks about the...More

Friend and I stopped for a look see on out way home from Pismo Beach. We arrived and left before they open for tours but we walked around the grounds and took some pictures. We will plan to stop in again during opening hours.
