If you are anywhere near San Rafael, plan to spend a few hours at China Camp. You will love the experience. Better yet, lend your support to preserve and restore this hugely important historic site. Google "Friends of China Camp" for more info!

We enjoyed this very easy trail overlooking the Bay marsh. There was plenty of room to park on the side of the road. The trail flat and well marked with educational signs.

This is not the most exotic camping spot, but its close to 101 and and very easy to get to for anyone in southern/central marin. Sites are clean and its a fun spot for an easy car camp trip.

The old shacks are interesting to walk through, and the views of the Bay are terrific. Volunteers keep this park open, and conduct wetlands research as well. Small beaches, parking can get crowded.
