Moonstone beach is a nice place to while away a few minutes before or after you visit Hearst Castle. I think there are better beaches elsewhere along the coast if you want to spend a day by the sea.

Take the Pacific Coast Highway for some of the most stunning views of the pacific.Take a boat ride out to the Channel Islands National Park.
