It was so cool to see the elephant seal pups! Oh my goodness! I liked that there were signs to read and learn a bit more. It was a chilly day, but so worth it. I loved seeing this incredible part of nature.

The seals are rather used to people it seems. The distance from the parking lot to seals is <50 m, but they appear relaxed and comfortable. The smell is strong but one gets used to it. Watching them is very rewarding.

Go visit the Elephant Seal Rookery. It is easy to find, accessible and amazing! The elephant seals at a glance look like boulders on the beach until you look closely and notice them moving. We watched for a long time and were mesmerized watching them...More

A quick drive north of Hearst Castle is the Elephant Seal Rookery. There were easily more than 100 Elephant seals and sea lions basking in the sun on the beach. Viewing platforms provide great viewing access. Ample free parking. Spectacular coastal views. No crowds on...More

An amazing experience! Easy parking, a boardwalk gets you within a few feet of the seals. There are docents to give you lots of information and explain the behavior of the seals. You can spend a lot of time watching the seals.

Right off the Pacific Coast Highway, easy parking. Great views of the beach and the seals! Nice boardwalk gets you to within about 50 feet of them

A fantastic sight to see. It was windy and cold but it is well worth the trip just to see these animals in the wild. You will not be disappointed.

Again it is fabulous to see the smaller elephant seals just lying around basically doing nothing for all the day.

Certainly not. I don't know if it's 24/7, but it's open all day.

There are seals all year round. It just depends on the season as to whether you’ll see more males, females or yearlings. Look up their website for what is there different times of years

Tour lens will be fine. Lower your expectations about what you'll see and certainly about their "activity".....they mostly just sleep.
