Although it will take you about 20 minutes to make the drive up the mountains, it's worth it. If you're there for lunch, get the Venison (deer meat) sandwich. Excellent!

This (literally) used to be a stop on the old stagecoach route going through the mountain pass and farther north up the central coast. It appears to be the original building, with rustic, tavern-like decor to match in the various dining rooms. The food is...More

We enjoyed fine tri tip sandwiches and cold beer while listening to bluesmen Tom Ball and Kenny Sultan on a sunny May day. Note: parking is limited to street-side; arrive early or deal with a long walk.

A must if you visit the Santa Barbara area. Food and staff have room for improvement but nevertheless, the old tavern is just amazingly cosy and an attraction in it self. Live music and bbq on weekends. Prepare for a long line of people going...More

Great outing with Family on a sunny day. Good food and great service in the midst of no where. Had a great trip before the end of holidays.

We checked out of our Wine Country hotel about 11am and were driving south on the California 154. Perfect timing to pull our personal stagecoach off the highway to get a little flavor of the old west. Takes you back 131 years. Guess the menu...More

Even though it is a short distance from Santa Barbara, you really get the feeling that you are far away in the mountains. It is very rustic and there is not a lot of cement outside just very fine dirt. I would leave dogs in... More
