We got married in the Mural Room, which was just gorgeous. The whole courthouse and the surrounding grounds are truly lovely.

We visited on a Sunday in February. Not very crowded. Wow. If I worked for the court system, this is where I would want to work. The works of art, flooring and tile work and decorations were amazing. The bell tower gave a spectacular view...More

The courthouse is worth a visit. The grounds are beautiful and the architecture is interesting with beautiful artwork and color. The tower has 360 degree views of the city.

We were walking around old town, and actually were looking for “PSYCH” locations. While we never found the police station we discovered the courthouse. This was a beautiful building. And the grounds were great. We were here around sunset so the lighting was perfect. If...More

Great 360 degree views of Santa Barbara. Lots of local history and character. TILE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!! And you may even catch a wedding on your visit which occur with regular frequency in the sunken garden behind the courthouse.

Outside it's fairly traditional mission-style architecture but inside it's something else. The courtroom is pretty spectacular and the bell tower offers fine views over the city and environment.

Great views from the top, but when the tour groups come in, it is far too crowded and you will get smacked with a selfish stick. The building itself is worth exploring. It's a working court house. Look for all the different types of tile...More

The interior of the building, built in the late 1920's, is beautiful. There is an elevator to the tower.

Grew up in SB - spent many a day hanging out in the gardens - climbing the clock tower for a stunning view of SB. Got my marriage license here in 2004. Have attended events in my life here from Fiesta dancers, concerts and movies...More

I can't remember for sure, but since it is a public building in use every day as a courthouse I am pretty sure it opens at least by 9 am.
